Women Making a Difference established in 2007, is a community based organization which provides mentoring/coaching, parenting and life skills programs for pregnant teens and single mothers.
This program launched as a school based program in 2008 at Forest Park High School in partnership with Meet Me Halfway. Our first teen mother graduated from our program and Forest Park High School in June 2009. She currently is working, going to college and being a great mom to her son.
I recently had the pleasure of reconnecting with the teen mother I took into my home twenty years ago. Tamia is a great woman, pastor's wife, mother a four beautiful children and a college student. Words can not describe how that time of reconnection empowered both of our lives. In her words:
Carla,
Thank you so much for everything you did to help me be successful in life. When I had no one and nothing, you cared enough to be there for a stranger. May God continually bless you for the tremendous blessing and support that you gave to me. Great is your reward in heaven."
With all my love and gratitude,
Tamia

Coaching/Workshops for single mothers/mothers
Mom it's time for you to better care for yourself and live your dream. As a single mother I know all too well how easy it is to put yourself last. In this new year I have put together tools and strategies to help you as a mother align your priorities to include caring for yourself so you can better care for your children.
Mothers will learn to ask the hard questions about why they do what they do and make any necessary changes/decisions. It will be a great lesson to pass on to your children and your family. Our children need to see us realizing our dreams so they can dream to realize their own.
You can make the decision to do something different, won't you join other mothers who are doing the same.
Hope to see you there!
